Chart News: One Direction Hold Number One and Two On The iTunes Album Chart in America

Not content with topping the charts in the UK, Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson are celebrating after their album shot to number one, and two, in the US iTunes chart.

How did they manage that we hear you cry?

The deluxe version of Up All Night is number one, while the standard version is at number two.

What an achievement. No one is more proud of the young stars than their parents, with Harry’s mum taking to Twitter to write: “Wow!! Fantastic news to wake up to! So proud @Harry_Styles @onedirection WELL DONE boys – you’ve worked hard & you deserve this. Love you xx.” Bless!

The lads are having the time of their lives as they continue to take America by storm, yesterday wowing with an appearance on the Today Show, which caused chaos as thousands of screaming girls turned up to catch a glimpse of the heartthrobs.

Harry Tweeted: “Thank you to @todayshow for having us! And thank you to everyone who turned up to see us…you were sick!! .x”

King of boybands Gary Barlow recently spoke of the lads’ achievements across the pond, praising both One Direction and The Wanted for successfully making their mark in the US, where so many bands before them failed.

The Take That star Tweeted: “Another big congrats to @onedirection on their US success.America loving our boy bands.Maybe I’ll get me cycling shorts back on!! #ornot.” Please do Gary!
