Beyonce 4 albumBeyonce’s Glastonbury Festival performance would have been near-enough perfect if it weren’t for the shambles that was Tricky mumbling incoherently on stage. However, now gossip forums are suggesting that the singer actually brought Tricky on to humiliate him after he fired shots at Jay-Z in the press.

Bey brought the Massive Attack trip-hop pioneer out on stage during her performance presumably to fill in for Sean Paul when she sung ‘Baby Boy.’ However, Tricky appeared confused and didn’t seem to know the words to the song, leading some to believe that he may have suffered stage fright.

Various gossip forums have been speculating that Bey found out about the unsavoury comments Tricky made about Jay and the controversy surrounding his Glastonbury appearance in 2008. Tricky told a publication at the time: “I can understand in some ways, because an American artist headlining Glastonbury is probably a bit weird for people.”

“And the fact that he’s an urban artist – and he’s not actually that good… The ‘bling-bling, I’m God’ sort of bulls**t, English people ain’t into that.”

According to the conspiracy theorists, Bey told Tricky that he would be able to perform a selection of his Massive Attack hits during her set, but when he actually got on stage they didn’t play his music, leaving him on stage humiliated.
